Why Book My Move?

We take the hassle out of hours of research, phoning, leaving messages, and not getting replies.

We simplify your move by matching you with a moving company that fits your location, budget and requirements all on one platform.

How does Book My Move work?

Book My Move matches people needing a moving service with carrier companies. You, as the client, publish a “request for quote,” compare prices from a range of moving companies, then book your move with your chosen removalist.

Are the moving companies vetted or accredited?

Yes, all companies must hold a Transport Service Licence. We encourage our users to leave reviews about the moving company they used to maintain honesty and integrity for our platform.

Will my items be insured?

Most moving companies will have their own insurance paperwork but it’s best to check this out before committing.

What if I have specific moving requirements or unique items?

If you have specific moving requirements outside our selections or unique items that require special care, this can be organised with your chosen carrier.


Booking With Us

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend you book as early as possible. Keep in mind that there may be higher demand during certain times of the year so booking earlier rather than later ensures you secure a spot with your preferred carrier.

Do I have to pay to request a quote?

No, it is completely free to submit a “request for quote.”

Do I have to accept one of the quotes I receive?

Absolutely not, you are not obligated to accept any of the quotes that you receive.

How long does it take to receive quotes?

You should start receiving quotes from suitable moving companies within 24 hours of publishing your request for quote.

What if I need to change my moving date/location details?

This can be organised with the moving company.

Why Book My Move?

Book My Move allows you to receive notifications for job inquiries and submit quotes. 

Book My Move brings the work to you, connecting you with potential customers who are looking for your services in your area.

What are the requirements to register my moving company with Book My Move?

All moving companies must be vetted by Book My Move before being registered.

To be vetted and registered, you must supply the following:

  • Company Name
  • NZBN
  • TSL number (in your name or company name) 
  • Insurance coverage
  • Number of employees and vehicles
  • Service Area
  • Contact details
  • Website

What is the payment process? Is there a cost for providing or accepting a quote?

There is no cost for providing or accepting a quote.

However, once a quote is accepted by a customer, you will be notified via email. This email will contain a link to an invoice for Book My Move’s commission.

Once this is paid, you will get a remittance email and the customer’s details for the job. Their details will also become visible in the dashboard.

How does it work?

In your dashboard, you can see open job requests that you’ve matched with, and submit quotes (if you haven’t already). Once you’ve submitted a quote, the customer is notified via email.

You can also see a list of your accepted jobs, separated into open, complete, and canceled.

You can also see the quotes you’ve submitted.

Can I customize the type of moving services I offer through the platform?

Yes. You can manage and update your business profile on the platform to accurately reflect your services.
